Introducing “By Alison”
At TILT Magazine, we believe travel should be a space where everyone feels welcome - not just in theory, but in practice. That belief is why we are delighted to introduce a new regular column, By Alison, written by Alison Pearson.

That belief is why we are delighted to introduce a new regular column, By Alison, written by Alison Pearson.
Alison brings something rare and incredibly valuable to the conversation around travel and inclusivity: both lived experience and industry leadership. A single-leg amputee following a catastrophic road traffic accident at the age of seventeen, Alison has spent much of her life navigating the world with a perspective that many travel providers are only now beginning to understand.
Her professional journey reflects that same commitment to change. Alison previously served as Inclusivity Champion at Celebrity Cruises, helping to champion conversations around inclusive guest experiences within the cruise industry. Today, as Director of Travel Services at Inclu Travel Group, she works with travellers and travel providers to design journeys that place inclusivity at the heart of exceptional travel.
Through this column, Alison will explore how the travel industry is evolving; from cruising and aviation to luxury hospitality and adventure travel and ask some important questions along the way. Who really gets to travel? What does truly inclusive luxury look like? And how can the industry design experiences that welcome a wider community of travellers?
Her insights come at a time when the conversation around inclusive travel is gaining momentum across the global travel sector. Alison herself has been recognised for her advocacy through numerous industry honours, including Aspire Awards Inclusivity Champion and a nomination at the 2026 OutThere Awards.
In the months ahead, By Alison will offer thoughtful reflections, industry insight and, we hope, a little inspiration about how travel can become more inclusive without losing the sense of wonder that draws us to explore the world.
Because at its best, travel is about discovery – and everyone deserves the chance to be part of that journey.
